A Practical Way to Adapt Without Losing Orientation

The Reclaim Method supports Adaptive Integrity — the ability to stay oriented and act with judgment when demands

conflict and conditions remain unresolved.

Reclaim is not about optimizing performance or fixing people. It is about supporting orientation inside conditions that no longer hold together.

When work becomes contradictory and pressure accumulates, adaptation often happens automatically. Reclaim creates space to slow

that momentum so people can choose deliberately rather than reactively.

Through Reclaim, people learn to regain internal footing before action, clarify what matters in the moment, and make choices

that can be sustained over time. The method integrates sensemaking and reflective practices that help people see what is

shaping their behavior and respond with intention rather than reflex.

The Reclaim Method is explored in depth in the forthcoming book.

What Reclaim Restores Under Pressure

The Reclaim Method supports Adaptive Integrity — the ability to navigate complexity and competing demands without fragmenting clarity, agency, or coherence over time.

Adaptive Integrity matters when signals conflict, direction is unclear, and conditions do not resolve cleanly. It allows leaders, teams, and organizations to remain oriented long enough to sense what is actually happening and act with judgment rather than default response.

In practice, Reclaim supports the restoration of internal conditions that are often quietly eroded under pressure - clarity, discernment, choice, agency, and coherence so action remains deliberate rather than reactive.

This work is not about coping better or building resilience.
It is about restoring the internal core required to navigate complexity without fragmentation over time.

Why Reclaim Starts with Orientation

Reclaim does not ask people to tolerate unsustainable squeeze conditions at work. It begins by making those conditions visible.

In complex systems, people adapt continuously. They smooth, stretch, absorb, and compensate in order to keep things functioning. Over time, these adjustments become default responses rather than conscious choices.

Reclaim is a guided practice for interrupting those defaults. It supports people, teams, and organizations in moving from reactive adaptation to deliberate engagement, without opting out of responsibility or the realities of their work.

The method begins with a system-level question:

What squeeze conditions are operating right now?

Only after this entry point does Reclaim examine how individuals or groups are responding within those conditions. When these dynamics are made visible, tension can be held where it belongs, in the system, rather than carried privately by individuals.

This shift allows adaptation to become more deliberate, coherent, and sustainable over time. Reclaim supports Adaptive Integrity through coherence-based sensemaking and reflective practices that restore orientation before action.

What Reclaim Develops

How Coherence Shows Up Over Time

When coherence is supported, attention stays anchored to the work itself rather than drifting toward expectation management.

Competing signals are held long enough for judgment to form, and action remains connected to intent rather than driven solely

by compliance or risk avoidance.

As coherence erodes, attention is gradually pulled away from the work and toward interpretation, signaling, and impression management.

Decisions narrow toward what feels safest or most acceptable. Effort shifts from doing the work to managing its implications.

These patterns rarely fail dramatically. Instead, they tighten slowly. Judgment narrows. Optionality decreases. Work becomes more brittle.

People often remain capable and functional, but at an increasing internal cost.

Reclaim supports the restoration of coherence so judgment, attention, and effort remain available for the work itself, even under sustained pressure.

Radical Reflection™ as a Core Practice

Radical Reflection™ is a core discipline within the Reclaim Method. It is used when complexity tightens attention and automatic adaptation begins to take over.

It is called radical because it departs from conventional reflection and mindfulness approaches. Rather than focusing on insight alone, it works with how complexity is carried in real time, across attention, experience, and action, not just how situations are understood cognitively.

Radical Reflection slows momentum long enough for people to notice what is happening as it unfolds, without collapsing into performance, defense, or premature resolution. It creates space for inquiry while action is still required.

The practice incorporates humour and serious play as orienting conditions. Serious play allows assumptions, contradictions, and alternative interpretations to surface without threat. Humour lowers defensiveness, exposes absurdity, and makes it possible to see what is happening without shame or self-protection.

Together, humour and serious play support a creative stance. Not creativity as expression, but creativity as a leadership capacity: the ability to remain flexible, curious, and oriented when conditions are complex and unresolved.

Used at the right moments, Radical Reflection interrupts default patterns of adaptation before clarity, judgment, and identity are quietly traded away.

What the Reclaim Method Strengthens Under Pressure

Reclaim strengthens a small set of human capacities that shape how people interpret conditions, allocate attention, and regulate effort when work contains unresolved contradiction. These capacities do not eliminate ambiguity or complexity. They influence whether people can remain oriented and act deliberately without fragmenting judgment, identity, or energy over time.

This work is not about traits or competencies. It is about strengthening practical human capacities that determine how people stay anchored, make judgments, and pace themselves when conditions do not resolve.

Under sustained pressure, these capacities are often quietly eroded. Attention drifts. Judgment narrows. Effort is over-allocated in order to maintain the appearance of function. Adaptation continues, but at an increasing internal and collective cost.

Reclaim supports the restoration of these capacities so participation remains deliberate rather than compensatory. The aim is not to resolve contradiction, but to engage it in ways that are less distortive and less erosive over time.

This is how Adaptive Integrity is strengthened under pressure.

How Coherence Intelligence™ Informs Our Method

Coherence Intelligence informs how the Reclaim Method approaches sensemaking and adaptation under complex conditions. It is not a model or a competency framework. It is a way of understanding how orientation is sustained when demands conflict and conditions do not resolve.

Coherence Intelligence draws attention to how people interpret what is happening, where attention is pulled, and how effort is regulated over time. Under sustained pressure, these dynamics often shift quietly toward constant interpretation, adjustment, and self-management, even when work continues to appear functional.

Reclaim integrates coherence-supporting practices so orientation is preserved before action is taken. This allows people, teams, and organizations to engage with tension and emergence more deliberately, rather than fragmenting judgment, identity, or integrity in the process.

Over time, this is what allows Adaptive Integrity to be sustained, rather than slowly eroded under pressure.

Don’t ask what the world needs.
Ask what makes you come alive. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.”
