Leadership Insight Sessions

High-trust 1:1 Sessions for Leaders Navigating Complexity

All 1:1 Sessions are Held by Charleen Johnson, BBHQ Founder.

If you want to talk through a real work situation, start here.

Let's Have an Initial Chat

Insight Sessions

Insight Sessions are structured, reflective conversations designed

to support clear thinking and sound judgment in complex situations.

Some sessions focus on a leader’s immediate decisions, tensions,

or role clarity (Personal Sessions). Others take a wider view, helping leaders examine patterns shaping their team, culture, or organization (System Insight Sessions).

In both cases, the work centers on making sense of the conditions

you’re operating inside,  not diagnosing problems or prescribing solutions so you can decide how to move forward with greater clarity and intention.

What You Leave With

  • clearer understanding of what’s happening (and what isn’t)
  • restored orientation when things feel noisy, fast, or pressured
  • greater confidence in your judgment and next steps
  • fewer reactive decisions driven by urgency or expectation
  • language to name tensions, constraints, or contradictions you’ve been carrying
  • increased capacity to pause, think, and choose deliberately
  • steadier presence that others around you tend to feel, even if it’s not named

Value Creation for the Organization

While Insight Sessions are with leaders, the value they create extends out to the organization. By helping leaders see and respond to what is actually shaping decisions, effort, and behavior, this work reduces friction that quietly drains time, energy, and money across the system.

What organizations gain:

  • Reduced friction
Fewer decision loops, stalled initiatives, and hidden workarounds that slow execution.
  • Restored capacity
Less effort spent holding contradictions together and more capacity available for real work.
  • Decisions that hold
Clearer choices that don’t need to be revisited, reversed, or re-litigated downstream.
  • Increased efficiency
Less rework, fewer escalations, and cleaner handoffs between roles and functions.
  • Greater effectiveness
Strategy and execution separate again, allowing leaders to lead and teams to execute without overload.
  • Cost reduction over time
Fewer resets, less churn, reduced burnout-related turnover, and lower spend managing symptoms rather than causes.

The value isn’t a framework or a set of recommendations.
It’s work that moves again, decisions that stick, and capacity that compounds instead of leaking away.

When friction is reduced, effort creates value instead of absorbing it.

Next Step

If you’re not sure where to start, that’s understandable.

Insight Sessions begin with a brief inquiry to understand what you’re navigating. Not everyone arrives knowing whether they need a Personal Insight Session or a System Insight Session.

The inquiry helps clarify whether an Insight Session is the right next step and, if so, which type would be most useful.

There is no pressure to decide or commit during this step.

If you’re carrying questions, tension, or uncertainty and aren’t sure

where to begin, an inquiry is the place to start.

Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at Hello@behavingbadlyhq.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

No. Insight Sessions are not ongoing coaching. They are focused conversations designed to help you make sense of a real situation and decide next steps. Some people choose to continue working together afterward, but the session itself stands on its own. These sessions are not diagnostic sessions, or therapy sessions either.

That’s very common. You don’t need to arrive with a clear question or plan. Insight Sessions are designed to help you make sense of what’s going on and clarify what, if anything, makes sense to do next.

We typically work upstream, through the team leader or senior sponsor, when:

  • a team is forming, resetting, or entering a new phase
  • pressures and contradictions are present but not yet in crisis
  • leaders want to establish shared orientation before patterns harden

We do not facilitate team repair, conflict resolution, or post-breakdown interventions. If a team is already in crisis, we will often recommend a different form of support.

Yes. Insight Sessions are confidential. What you share stays between us, unless you explicitly ask to involve others.

After the session, some people take what they’ve clarified and move forward on their own. Others choose to continue working together for a short series or a longer engagement when it’s useful. There’s no expectation to continue unless it genuinely makes sense.
